USSB Film Night, Friday, May 17, Parish Hall, 7 pm. STEAMBOAT BILL, JR. (Keaton, 1928). Classic comedy night returns with Buster Keaton’s story of a New England college kid who visits River Junction, Mississippi to help his father, a roughneck steamboat captain, who is being driven out of business by a financier of the New South. When a colossal cyclone descends on the troubled city, everyone must scramble to survive. How do we adjust our thinking when the ground beneath us shifts? Keaton provides one answer in this most personal of his slapstick comedy film.
