Yes, of course your family is welcome to visit any of our Religious Education classes. We are a Welcoming Congregation and welcome families of all types!
Start by coming to one of our worship services at 9:15 or 11:15 a.m. Plan to come a few minutes early and pick up a Fidget Bag (small toys and activities for your child that extend the monthly theme) and a children’s order of service. Your child will sit with you during the first ten to fifteen minutes of the service.
Encourage your child to look around and take in the beauty of our sanctuary. Point out the colored beams of our Rose Window, our deeply carved wooden pulpit, the flowers on the altar. Listen to our choir, the words of our hymns and readings.
After the Time for All Ages, usually a story or activity focused on the youngest, children may leave the service for child care. Or they may stay with you for the entire service.
If your child moves to child care, we ask that you either accompany them or complete a short form (found in the fidget bag). Children are safely escorted to our Starr King child care area by our staff.
If you keep your child with you, please don’t worry about noises or nursing. We love children! However, if you decide you need to leave worship with your child, there is a Parent Child Area in Parrish Hall where you can continue to listen to the service while your child plays.
Classes for Preschool through 8th grade are held during Middle Hour at 10:25 a.m. Check out the RE News page for this month’s schedule and family friendly events.
If you arrive early, our staff can give you a short tour of the classrooms and show you where your child would go for class before church begins.
If you visit more than three times, we will ask you to complete an RE Enrollment, available here. Completing this form provides us with important health, contact, and pick up information and will also get you signed up for communications and announcements from the RE program.
