Director of Lifespan Religious Education (DRE)
The Unitarian Society of Santa Barbara seeks a Director of Lifespan Religious Education (DLRE). With 400+ adult members, 50+ kids and youth, and a wide circle of friends in the community, the Unitarian Society is seeking someone who will share a passion for lifelong learning and spiritual growth with our dynamic congregation and staff team.
The DRE is responsible for the overall development and implementation of a religious education ministry for children, youth, and adults that fosters and promotes Unitarian Universalist values, spiritual growth, social justice, and community engagement. They will support multigenerational community within the congregation as a whole and communicate a compelling vision for the future of lifespan faith development. The DRE will work collaboratively with the Lead Minister to make the vision and mission of the congregation come alive: To live with integrity, nurture wonder, and inspire action.
The DRE will supervise a staff team that includes paid Sunday teachers, a youth coordinator, and a team of volunteers.
The Unitarian Society is committed to fair compensation and offers a package in accordance with the UUA guidelines for a Midsize III, Geo Index 5 congregation. This includes benefits, paid vacation, study leave, and professional expenses.
