YRUU is our program for High School youth (grades 9-12).  After the spiritual exercise of Coming of Age, YRUU allows our youth to put their beliefs into practice.  They organize themselves with congregational guidance towards volunteer activities, social events and into the life of the congregation as a whole.  A given month may see the YRUU youth volunteering serving food in a shelter, off to see a film together, making breakfast for the congregation and climbing trees in a ropes course.

Every year YRUU works toward a Service Trip or Retreat where they volunteer in the wider world and get a sense of their relationship to inter-connected Web of existence.  Past trips have included volunteer work in New Orleans, San Francisco’s Tenderloin, and the Hopi/Navajo nation in Arizona and New Mexico.

YRUU generally meets on Sunday afternoons from 4-5:30 in Blake Lounge. As activities, locations and times may vary, please contact Youth Coordinator, Adam@ussb.org for more specific details. Please note that YRUU breaks from its general schedule during July and August.
