Summer 2018- Seventh Principle MakerSpace!
Seventh Principle MakerSpace begins on June 24!
Get ready for our exciting new summer religious education program at USSB!
The Seventh Principle MakerSpace will be concurrent with our single worship service at 10:00. It’s an all ages space where children and youth explore how to repurpose items in an exciting makerspace housed in Jefferson Hall. The learning is guided by our 7th Principle: Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.
Our MakerSpace Centers include:
Deconstruction Zone: Take apart safe electronics and machinery and see how they work!
Electronic Zone: Make simple electronics like door bells, Bristle Bots, or drawing machines! Older kids can even rebuild computers!
Sewing Zone: Make new items out of old. Pillows from T shirts? Bags from jeans? Puppets? No prob!
Cardboard Construction Zone: Build games, catapults, robots and cars from cardboard.
Art Smart Zone: Make fresh art from old scraps.
‘Zine Zone: Repurpose magazines and recycled paper into new books and magazines.
Kids may work on a project that can be completed in a single Sunday or save their project to work on each week.
And be sure to mark your calendars for a gallery show of completed projects at 11:00 on Sunday, August 26 in Parrish Hall.
