Detention Center Visitation Program

Several members of our congregation are part of a visitation program connected with the Adelanto Detention Center, several hours south of Santa Barbara.  For more information, contact Deborah Rogers.

Update from Adelanto!

Did you know that of the seventy-six million Americans in 1900, a third were either foreign-born or the children of foreign-born parents? In 1910, the foreign-born and their first generation children accounted for more than 70 percent of the population in New York, Chicago, Boston, Milwaukee.! Deborah Rogers, a member of USSB’s Immigration Justice Team, regularly joins Rev. Lora Brandis of the Conejo Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship and others interested in immigration justice at Adelanto Detention Center near Victorville to visit inmates who are fighting their cases from behind bars. If you see Deborah at community time and want to know what’s up, just ask!
